Company: Amerequip Corporation Location: Kiel, WI Position: Cost Accountant Role and Responsibilities The Cost Accountant is a partner to the Operations team and is responsible for capturing and sharing financial data required to make strategic and operational business decisions. This role contributes to month-end closing, report development, and variance analysis of departmental spending. Day-to-day partnering with operations teams, including project support, development of metrics and ad hoc reporting. Analyzes and maintains manufacturing labor and overhead rates through variance reporting and in collaboration with operations management. Analyzes changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods to validate engineering cost assumptions. Review and validate the valuation of inventory, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies. Investigate discrepancies in financial records and perform month-end close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations. Serve as company-wide resource to advise on system issues, developing reports or retrieving data from the ERP system. Prepare year-end reports and support annual financial audit. Assists with various ad-hoc projects and analysis as needed. Educations Requirements and Experience Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field Certified Management Accountant (CMA) (preferred) Qualifications and Preferred Skills Excel proficiency (vlookup, pivot tables) Intellectual curiosity and critical thinking Data analysis Experience with ERP Systems (preferred) Certified Management Accountant (CMA) Additional Notes This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer and is a key contributor to the overall success of the Accounting team.
