Instruction And SupportA Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) works under the supervision of a credentialed Speech/Language Pathologist/Therapist. Here are some common responsibilities for an SLPA in a school setting:

- Assist in providing instruction specific to speech and language communication for students identified as having special needs.
- Monitor the use of augmentative communication devices and systems.
- Provide student support through follow-up instructional and behavior modification activities.
- Assist with medical or physical needs of assigned students.
- Assist in conducting training and behavior modification activities for children experiencing special learning and/or behavior needs.
- Work with students to develop pre-language and language skills, oral-motor control for speech production, vocalization, and use of assistive technology devices for communication.
- Location: Saugus USD
- Site: Bouquet Canyon Elementary (must be available to work on-site)
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7.5 hours per day, with a half hour unpaid lunch
- Population: Preschool
- Caseload: TBD
- Experience: Preferred
- Credential: Required
