Amergis Healthcare Staffing is Hiring a School RN 1.1 - $47 / hr Near White Plains, NY
Salary: $47 per hourHours: 7:30a - 3:30p Position would be throughout summer and next school yearStudent has a seizure disorder and is wheelchair boundThe 1:1 School Registered Nurse (RN) oversees theapplication of the nursing process and the delivery of student care in a schoolsetting. The School RN provides servicesin accordance with District and Amergis Healthcare’s philosophy, standards,policies and physician orders.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Utilizes the nursing process to plan, implement and evaluatestudent’s care needs
- Demonstrates on each assignment the provision of skillnursing care in accordance with prescribed orders/IHP
- Performs interventions, treatments and medications administrationaccording to the identified priorities as outlined in the IHP
- Monitors and documents effectiveness of interventions,treatments and medications
- Completes documentation per district expectations
- Coordinates and facilitates services as requested betweenthe school, local health agencies and other community resources to meet theneeds of the student
- Communicates with the school district personnel aboutstudent’s plan of care/IHP
- Notifies District School Nurse/Parent/Physician as outlinedin the IHP regarding the following: changes in condition of student and Physician notification to obtainnecessary orders
- Collaborates with school/education personnel/other healthagencies as requested to design and meet student’s health care needs
- Evaluates and assures student safety at all times
- Adheres to Amergis Healthcare and school districtpolicies
- Maintains accuracy in student health record
- Adheres to district protocol and policy at all times
- At request of school district participates in student careconference / Individualized Education Program (IEP)
- Supports student medical needs during transport asapplicable
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in state(s) where practicing
- One year of school nursing experience, preferred
- Pediatric experience, preferred
- Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice
- Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency programwhen applicable
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
- Successful completion of new hire training as applicable tojob site
- Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAArequirements
- Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to andfrom appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors,co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in theEnglish language is required
- Computer proficiency required
- Must be at least 18 years of age
