America's Test Kitchen is seeking a Director of Social Media to join our team, based at our Test Kitchen headquarters in Boston’s Seaport District. This is a great opportunity to work with all aspects of the company, from video producers to test cooks. The ideal candidate has a passion for social media, cooking, marketing, digital design, and creative storytelling through content — leveraging these skills to help solidify our place as a dominant voice in the social media space. Your Day-to-Day
Act as ATK’s social media lead inside and outside of the organization, driving a vision for growth based on deep industry knowledge and passion for innovative content strategy
Grow organic engagement and traffic from all major social media platforms including (but not limited to) Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter/X, and YouTube for the America’s Test Kitchen, Cook’s Country, and Cook’s Illustrated brands
Have a strong background in social-first video content production strategies, working closely with the marketing, product and video teams
Build a conversion engine from social platforms by optimizing creative, audience and media strategies
Collaborate with programming team (TV/Streaming & Originals) on vision and distribution strategy on YouTube, informing annual goals for video views, ad revenue, and affiliate marketing initiatives
Develop a cohesive organic social media content strategy across all social platforms and ATK brands
Have a strong understanding of analytics and social performance metrics for all social media initiatives, working collaboratively with the data team to present results regularly internally within the organization
Proactively identify problems and solutions
Collaborate regularly with the editorial teams, partnership, streaming, sponsorship, PR, cookbooks team to achieve individual team goals
Develop and maintain strong relationships with platform partners to stay on top of best practices, emerging technologies and inclusion in beta opportunities
What You Bring To The Team
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Media Studies or a related field.
5-7 years of experience in organic social, content creation or a related role, with at least 2 years in a leadership position
Experience with subscription-based membership products a plus
Superior knowledge of the social media space, including being on top of trends, industry news, algorithms updates, emerging platforms, and overall expert in platforms including (but not limited to) Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter/X, and YouTube
Expertise in digital marketing and social media marketing with a deep understanding of how to create engaging experiences and articulate them through a multitude of mediums including video, photography, design assets, articles and more
Solid knowledge of paid media tactics and strategies to drive leads and conversions, supported by technical experience in tracking and attribution
Experience in driving video strategy and monetization across platforms
Experience with social and digital data analytics platforms, social listening tools, and approaches to measurement/reporting, etc.
Demonstrated self-starter with ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize work assignments for a team, meet deadlines, and work independently in a multi-product environment
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability manage up, down, and cross-functionally
This position is located in our Boston, MA office in the Seaport district. It is the expectation that the person in this role will work a hybrid schedule of 3 days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday) in the office and 2 days per week remotely.
