AMERICAN BANK & TRUST is Hiring a Credit Analyst Near Sioux Falls, SD

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABLILIES: (90%)
  • Assist in conducting credit investigations and analysis of financial data on new and existing commercial and agricultural loans as assigned.
  • Preparation of financial statements and projections, financial spreads, peer analysis, and other financial reports including written analysis of the overall credit for the officer, senior lending group and/or loan committee per bank policies and guidelines.
  • Assist in the completion and tracking of borrowing bases, loan agreements, action plans, risk ratings, watch list and collateral evaluations as required.
  • Work with lenders in completing sufficient loan interviews, annual loan reviews and inspections to develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of the overall lending relationship and culture.
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of the Bank's lending policies and procedures and identification of deviations from the policy.
  • Maintain knowledge and compliance with all banking laws and regulations related to the lending function, including required training to complete all specific job duties.
  • Assist the Chief Credit Officer in developing and maintaining credit risk tools and systems to support/maintain credit analysis and bank loan risk goals.
  • Keep abreast of current economic conditions and trends that affect the loan portfolio and banking industry.
  • Communicates with the Credit Administration team on operational and/or lending issues as needed.
  • Seeks networking opportunities through participation in community activities, professional organizations, educational workshops and seminars, charitable organizations, and economic and community development organizations (local Chambers, economic development councils, etc.).
  • Provide general support and/or assistance to the lending staff as needed.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES: (10%)
  • Represents Bank in industry and professional associations, community organizations, local business groups, etc., and promotes Bank's favorable image.
  • Remains knowledgeable and abreast of guaranteed government loan programs and other conventional financing mechanisms as vehicle for customers.
  • Help in identifying, developing, and soliciting new business opportunities, including referrals of all bank products.
  • Assist with loan review as needed.
  • Compliance with bank policies and procedures and federal and state laws/ regulations.
  • Prepare internal evaluations on residential and commercial real estate and maintain understanding of various approaches to determine property values.
  • Assist in managing the appraisal process which includes obtaining bids, sending engagement letters, managing appraisal time frames, and managing the review process.
  • Assist IT with their vendor management by reviewing financials of vendors to ensure there are no concerns with their ability to continue operations.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.

ROLE QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
Bachelor's degree in business, Finance or Accounting, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience
A minimum of 3-5 years of Commercial and Agricultural credit analysis experience within a financial institution environment preferred. Experience with Moody's or similar financial spreading and analysis platform.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed largely within the Bank with limited chance for personal injury. Prolonged and frequent mental and visual concentration required. Periodic stressful situations in response to multiple priorities within established deadlines. Work hours are generally during normal business hours. Unscheduled evening and weekend work may be needed to meet the needs of customers and employees. Occasional out-of-town and overnight business travel may be required. Work on some Saturdays will be required. Must be able to lift and move up to 20 pounds of office supplies and equipment. Some bending, turning, and twisting required.
