Summary Statement: This position requires overlooking all in-house automation and robotics with some machine setup and changeover. The individual should be able to troubleshoot machine VFD’s and read supplier electrical drawings to identify and fix any electrical issues.

Qualifications:

· PLC troubleshooting & programming.

· Electrical repairs and wiring (3 phase 480 VAC,120 VAC)

· Good written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.

· Time Management, Organizational, and planning skills.

· Must have a valid current driver’s license.

· Must be able to work with minimal supervision.

· Solid, honest and open communication skills.

· Solid and clear recording keeping is a must.

· Analytical & reasoning skills are very important.

· Must be a self-starter.

Education & Experience:

· A 2-year technical degree or equivalent experience is required.

· Electrical & PLC certification is a plus.

· Mechanical troubleshooting in a maintenance department or industrial capacity.

· Ability to interpret electrical & mechanical drawing.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

· Safety is first and most important. Knowledge on safe practices around electrical and moving equipment.

· Maintaining the conformance of the Lock-Out / Tag-Out program during routine maintenance of machines and during special uncommon repairs.

· Document Startup processes and designs of mechanical and electrical systems for production equipment.

· Drop new electrical wiring for machinery.

· Assist in the commissioning of new machines.

· Understand the workflow of in-house automation and robotics and must be able to troubleshoot and initiate improvement projects.

· Should be able to start up automation projects in-house.

· Coordinate & supervise the training of associates that operate automation equipment as needed to support the production effort & respect the maintenance program.

· Develop “Troubleshooting Guides” for each machine, for set-up associates and production operators’ use.

· Responsibility and authority to stop production when product quality does not meet the requirements, or equipment operation is not safe, or not functioning properly.

· Perform other duties as assigned by the Engineer.

Physical Demand:

· The physical demands are high; the ability to lift, move, reach are significant, determination and stamina are highly regarded in this position.

· The work environment is safe and clean, but a keen sense for safety is needed when working on machines & it can be dirty at these times.

· Summer will bring some hot days, and winter will bring some cold days, work is expected to progress during these days.
