American Corporate Security Inc. is Hiring a Security Manager Near Seattle, WA

American Corporate Security is seeking a passionate, motivated security and customer service-oriented leader to work in TACOMA, WA. RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for supervision of the day-to-day operations of the contracted site, including managing a team of security officers, site and/or shift supervisors/leads, scheduling, payroll, training, coaching, development and support.
  •  Ensure personnel are properly uniformed and present a neat and professional appearance as referenced in the ACS Handbook.
  • Ensure Security Officers are thoroughly knowledgeable of their duties and demonstrate the ability to act effectively during emergencies and other unusual situations.
  • Inspect Security Officers to ensure they possess all necessary permits and credentials as required by the contract, federal, state and local laws.
  • Manage uniforms, equipment, supplies, and vehicles utilized at the site, and maintain appropriate inventories and maintenance checklists.
  • Ensure overtime is kept to a minimum, foresees staffing needs, communicate staffing needs via requisition form, and reports personnel issues to the Area Manager.
  • Assure that employee grievances are heard and resolved (with help from appropriate support employees as required) and that personnel records are updated and accurate (Change of status forms, rosters, etc.)
  • Administrative duties include but are not limited to scheduling, preparing memos, issuing written warnings, reconciling daily hours worked, filling open shifts, call-offs, and filling shifts as needed.
  • Issue discipline warnings.
  • Coordinate and/or conduct site-specific on the job training (OJT), client-specific training, and annual refresher training for security personnel, as well as meet American Corporate Security training standards.
  • Frequent contact with the client, staff, public and regulatory agencies. This position requires the ability to speak clearly and distinctly and remain calm in stressful situations.
  • Take a proactive role in communicating with the client and meeting their needs; meet regularly, listen to issues, provide security and technical expertise and solutions. Strive for complete customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of alertness, with the ability to react quickly, mentally, and physically to a variety of unexpected and potentially dangerous scenarios.
  • Ability to read and understand post assignments, write reports, and respond to both routine and emergency dispatches.
  • Enforce American Corporate Security policies as outlined in the handbook, corporate memos and on the intranet.
  • Perform other work-related duties as may be assigned by the Area Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Shall fluently speak, read, comprehend, and compose coherent written reports in English.
  • Preferred previous contract security, facility management, customer service management, military or law enforcement experience.
  • Familiarity with securing facilities and/or vehicles at a fixed location.
  • Possess intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Prior payroll software, and scheduling experience preferred.
  • Must have a solid working knowledge of security operations and safety practices in an operations environment. Desired two (2) plus years.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with staff, the client, and the public. Be able to prepare, understand and follow standard operating procedures; perform duties in a professional manner, write, prepare, and investigate required reports.
  • Make independent and good judgment decisions within policy and maintain all contract credentials.
  • Ability to work in a team-orientated management environment with the ability to work independently while having an entrepreneurial attitude.
  • Key Competencies: staff management, financial management, integrity, problem solving, conflict management, time management, customer focus, timely decision making, motivating and directing others, driving for results.
  • Physically capable of standing a 10-hour post.
  • High School education or GED equivalent, some post-secondary education preferred.
  • Ability to pass a background investigation
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Valid TWIC Card
  • Ability to obtain a Washington State Guard Card
  • Must have valid Washington driver's license
  • 2 years of Customer Service & Supervising required
  • Must be able to work: any shift (day, night, overnight), overtime shifts, holidays, rotating schedules, weekends as needed.
  • Must be able to commute to Tacoma, WA

Language Skills

· Ability to clearly read, write, and speak English;

· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret important security related documents;

· Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, employees, and management team.

Mathematical Skills:

· Basic mathematical skills, including but not excluding addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, ratios, and proportions in practical solutions.

Reasoning Ability:

· Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions;

· Ability to make independent and good judgment decisions within proper policy and procedure.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements:

· Requires the ability to frequently walk to employee work areas and other work areas;

· Requires the ability to push, pull, carry, and lift up to 25 lbs;

· Requires close vision, distant vision, and the ability to adjust focus;

· Requires the ability to work in a work environment where there is moderate to extreme noise;

· Requires the ability to focus in a highly charged and noisy environment;

· Requires the ability to work in extreme outdoor temperatures of hot and cold;

· Must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time;

· Must be able to routinely climb stairs while securing the post;

· Repetitive use of hands;

· Use of sound, including occasional conditions of high levels of noise;

· Requires extensive use of keyboard involving repetitive motions with fingers, sitting for prolonged periods of time, and extensive use of the telephones/radios and face-to-face communication that requires accurate perception of speech as well as talking and hearing.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
  • $19.00 - 23.00 per hour.
  • Affordable Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, & Life insurance offered after 60-day introductory period.
