How will you make an impact in this role?Enterprise Digital & Data Solutions (EDDS) develops and scales high-impact, mobile-centric and personalized digital experiences, powered by data & analytics, throughout the customer lifecycle. EDDS Operational Excellence enables profitable business growth and exceptional customer experiences driving excellence, speed and agility across products, platforms, processes and capabilities. Through the design and implementation of an effective framework, the EDDS Ops Excellence Team will ensure the EDDS organization is fulfilling on its obligations to customers and has a robust control environment operating in compliance with evolving global regulations.
In line with Amex’s “three lines of defense” approach to risk management, the Operational Excellence team (First Line of Defense) actively works with Second Line of Defense (Global Risk, Compliance, Privacy) and Third Line of Defense (Internal Audit) teams to ensure adequate implementation of risk management framework requirements.
This is an exciting time to join a team that is developing new strategies, implementing new processes, and building new partnerships across the Blue Box to bring greater value to the Third-Party Lifecycle Management Program (TLM). The Analyst will become part of a high performing team to deliver on the EDDS Operational Excellence vision and objectives. Under the Manager, EDDS Operational Excellence, the Analyst will assist first line of defense operational risk activities for Digital and Data initiatives, to ensure the EDDS business meet compliance and regulatory requirements within the TLM Program.
The Analyst, EDDS Operational Excellence will be responsible for:
  • Maintenance and support of Third Party Lifecycle Management Reporting including performance metrics, and monthly results
  • Partner with our internal business teams and stakeholders to ensure that policy timelines for Pre and Post Contract Third Party Lifecycle Management requirements are met.
  • Prepare presentations and communicate status updates at all levels, including senior leadership and EDDS TRM Monthly Meeting Forum
  • Provide TLM training and process guidance to Third Party Relationship Managers (TRM) and other BU teams across the globe on end-to-end Third-Party Management
  • Maintain Third Party inventory list for EDDS Third Parties and track and validate all EDDS contracts
  • Maintain working knowledge of the E2E TLM program including GSM engagement, process flow of TLM action items, downstream impacts, and Due Diligence requirement knowledge.
  • Must keep a high-level understanding of the Third Parties and services to ensure accurate risk ratings are established.
  • Lead identification of opportunities to improve internal controls, compliance, risk, and regulatory adherence.
  • Support any ad hoc request from various stakeholders including EDDS Leadership, GCO, IAG, TSM, TLM, GRO and others
  • Operating as a trusted advisor to Business and Support groups across the American Express enterprise, supporting them in meeting their expectations, maintaining strong business focus and presence
Minimum Qualifications
  • University degree or higher or equivalent work experience
  • Technical risk management skill set, ideally with experience supporting global platforms, processes or capabilities
  • Able to use all Excel functionality, proficient in PowerPoint, Word, VISIO
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to succeed in a fast-paced, collaborative and team-oriented environment with evolving business needs
  • Expertise in end-to-end process mapping/ process improvements skills with ability to identify potential business, compliance, and/or process risks/gaps.
  • Independent, self-motivated, with an ability to adapt and be flexible in a team environment
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, alongside excellent analytical skills
  • Must be able to prioritize effectively leveraging strong organization and analytical skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously and independently from end-to-end
  • Ability to learn quickly, “connect the dots” with a strong track record of developing ideas from concept to deployment and delivering win-win solutions for the business.
  • Ability to challenge the status quo
Preferred Qualifications
  • Understanding of the Third-Party Lifecycle Management process and requirements highly preferred
Salary Range: $55,000.00 to $105,000.00 annually bonus benefits
