Compensation & Benefits:Competitive salary ($50,000/year DOE), 5 day work week, plus a great benefit package: 401k, health insurance, 2 weeks vacation after 1 year, 6 personal days, new bonus plan, plus a great work environment.
Responsibilities of the Sous Chef:
- Assist the Executive Chef in menu planning, staff scheduling, and creating shopping lists
- Prepare high-quality food items for all meals and buffet-style dinners
- Handle the daily food operations and manage inventory and supplies
- Ensure the food prepared meets health and safety regulations
- Monitor and control usage of kitchen equipment and tools
- Follow team recipes and adjust as necessary for seasonal variations
- Manage kitchen staff, delegate tasks, and ensure adherence with safety regulations
- 2 years of management/chef experience
- Proficient in ordering, inventory, scheduling, menu development
- Available to work opening, mid, or closing shifts on a 5 day work week
- The ability to teach, coach and motivate a staff of 25
- Must have superior organization and time management skills
- Have the ability to stay calm under pressure
- Be proactive and not reactive to everyday situation
