Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced and strategic Procurement Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of our procurement processes to ensure the acquisition of necessary goods and services at the best possible prices, while supporting our sustainability goals.
Job Summary: The Procurement Manager will oversee the sourcing, negotiation, and purchasing of materials, equipment, and services for AIM Recycling. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills, excellent negotiation abilities, and a deep understanding of supply chain management in the metal recycling industry. The Procurement Manager will work closely with various departments to ensure that procurement activities align with the company's sustainability and operational goals.
Qualifications
  • Developing and implementing procurement strategies to ensure cost-effective purchasing while maintaining quality and delivery standards.
  • Managing the end-to-end procurement process, including supplier selection, negotiation of contracts, and purchase order management.
  • Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and vendors, negotiating favorable terms and conditions.
  • Monitoring market trends, competitor strategies, and industry best practices to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Collaborating with internal departments such as finance, operations, and production to understand their needs and ensure timely procurement of necessary materials and services.
  • Overseeing the preparation and processing of purchase orders and requisitions.
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements in all procurement activities.
  • Developing and managing the procurement budget, tracking expenses and ensuring adherence to financial plans.
  • Conducting regular supplier evaluations and audits to ensure performance standards are met.
  • Implementing and maintaining procurement software and systems to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Preparing and presenting reports on procurement activities, savings, and performance metrics to senior management.
  • Focusing on sourcing sustainable and eco-friendly materials, contributing to the company's environmental goals.
Additional Information
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Procurement Manager or in a similar role, preferably in the metal recycling or manufacturing industry.
  • Strong understanding of procurement and supply chain management principles.
  • Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools (e.g., ERP systems).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CSCP, CPSM, CPIM) is preferred.
  • Knowledge of sustainable procurement practices is a plus.
  • Understanding of and Industrial and Supplier Landscape for US markets relevant to the metal recycling industry
  • MRO and Mobile Assets Sourcing experience will be an asset.
