American Leadership Academy is accepting applications for an Part Time ESL Teacher K-6 for the 2024-2025 school year at our new Sierra Vista Elementary location.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Collaborates with the EL Coordinator and AD of EL to maintain, evaluate, and improve the district ELL plan and program.
• Evaluates the performance of students regarding achievement in curriculum and activities, and makes necessary provisions to meet learning needs.
• Analyzes and evaluates student progress and course curriculum.
• Participates in EL Team meetings.
• Implements co-teaching, pull-out, and push-in support services for EL students as appropriate.
• Assists with testing EL students for language proficiency in accordance with state guidelines.
• Communicates with parents of EL students to ensure they are informed of methods of evaluation utilized in the classroom, student success, school activities, and instructional methods that might assist a student.
• Communicates with and collaborates with School Administration regarding student progress and implementation of SEI model.
• Designs lessons based on the English Language Proficiency standards appropriate to student grade level and proficiency band.
• Travel requirements are contingent on campus.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
• Valid Arizona Teaching Certificate and SEI Endorsement or equivalent (ESL or Bilingual)
• Highly Qualified in English (7-12 teachers only)
• Proficient at online teaching, and with online platforms (Canvas, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

• At least 3 years of classroom teaching experience
• Thorough knowledge of ELL regulations
