About Ortho Trauma Unit
- Manage patient care on our 32-bed Orthopedic and Orthopedic Trauma Unit, specializing in total hip and knee replacements, elective shoulder surgeries, and traumatic orthopedic injuries.
- Administer IV antibiotics for joint infection patients and provide care for medical-surgical overflow cases.
- Utilize telemetry monitoring to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.
- Maintain high standards of nursing care and adhere to hospital policies and procedures.
- Our team prides itself on being tight-knit, supportive, and akin to a family.
- We maintain a busy yet rewarding atmosphere with high expectations for employee performance.
- Collaboration and teamwork are essential due to the nature of patient care requirements.
- We provide ample opportunities for professional growth and development.
- Nurse-to-patient ratio typically maintained at 1:5-6 for day shift and 1:6-7 for night shift.
- LPNs assist in managing patient load, and charge nurses may provide direct patient care support.
- Support staff includes Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and other unit personnel to ensure efficient operations.

Job Summary And Qualifications
- Provides leadership which facilitates the delivery of professional nursing care for the comfort and well-being of patients.
- Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family.
- Implements medically prescribed interventions.
- Required Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing or enroll in a BSN or advanced degree program and obtain a BSN within 5 years of hire date into RN position. RNs with 10 years or more of experience are exempt.
- Preferred Education: Masters in Nursing.
- Required License/Certifications: Must have and maintain current licensure as registered nurse with the North Carolina Board of Nursing. eNLC (Enhanced Nurse License Compact) license may apply, licensee should confirm with NCBON
- Certificate: BLS Healthcare Provider
- Preferred License/Certifications: National Certification in area of specialty
- Preferred Experience: One year hospital nursing experience
