SUMMARY: Directs and coordinates business commercialization activities for American Packaging Corporation

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Manage Scale-Up/Commercialization functions.
  •  Establish and participate in all necessary conference calls and meetings pertaining to commercialization of new business.
  • Manage business commercialization issues, including but not limited to: customer service, logistics, graphics, customer and internal specs, HR & delivery date improvement and demand planning/forecasting.
  • Assist in managing customer complaint resolution/collection issues. 
  • Understand and analyze business success/effectiveness of pre-commercialization trial program.
  • Understand job/production costs to drive sound business decisions.
  • Investigate all customer related inquires. Expedite information to customer, sales representative, and/or manufacturing including, but not limited to: HR date communication, graphics availability, price quotations, samples, or any other pertinent information necessary in commercializing new business.
  • Identify and implement systems/processes that provide best business practices as it relates to customer order entry, order pricing, inventory reporting, technical specifications and graphics specifications.
  • Work with Production Control to resolve scheduling and raw material issues to ensure customer satisfaction as it relates to on time and complete delivery.
  • Correspond with company sales force and field technical service group as needed to address customer support issues.
  • Contact other departments, locations and resources (within the organization and external) to obtain and provide information.
  • Assist in generation of account specific reports including but not limited to inventory of finished goods, raw materials, order status as needed and any other reports per customer needs and requested.
  • If applicable, establish and maintain Vendor Managed Inventory programs through weekly reporting to customer.
  • Provides input in hiring decisions and assist the Customer Service Manager with training for the Customer Service Representatives.
  • Solve problems, analyze situations/behaviors and prioritize responsibilities.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • As member of COE Leadership Team, drive strategic and operational direction/success for the COE.
  • Any other assigned responsibilities.

Requirements

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 

Ideal candidates will possess a Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university or equivalent experience. Eight to ten years related experience in the flexible packaging industry which include a combination of experience in the following areas: Inside Sales/Customer Service, Marketing, Pricing, Graphics, Logistics and Technical. The ideal candidate will also have three to five years Project Management experience coordinating a multitude of customer items across multiple markets.

FOOD SAFETY TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

Food Safety Training, consisting of the GMP/PPE/Food Safety Policy, HACCP Plan and SQF System is provided to all personnel at the time of hiring. Refresher training is completed annually, based on the anniversary month of the employee’s date of hire. Completion of this training is a condition of employment.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management and/or clients and customers.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations..

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with several concrete and/or abstract variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions furnished in written, oral, mathematical, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
