SUMMARY

Responsible for the coordination and processing of orders between sales, design, customer service and production. Handle customer inquiries and complaints in a timely manner. Responsible for all production (manufacturing) related purchasing of supplies. Attention to detail and accuracy are critical in every stage of the duties listed below. Provide not only outstanding service to external customers but also to internal customers.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Take customer orders either directly from customers or sales representatives.
  • Place orders on a timely basis for purchases of materials and supplies to be used in production.
  • Handle customer complaints and questions and follow-up with appropriate internal personnel as required.
  • Coordinate accounting credits.
  • Record and distribute customer order changes.
  • Process order confirmations to customers.
  • Assist sales personnel as appropriate and assist in generating supplemental sales.
  • Track warehouse items to ensure availability and that agreed upon minimum/maximum levels are followed. Analyze monthly usages and re-stocking per customer
  • Source various materials such as labels, foam, plastic parts, films, tape, wood, etc. used in conjunction with the corrugated package.
  • Purchase printing plates and cutting dies.
  • Negotiate with suppliers the best price and delivery terms for various items.
  • Knowledge of products, machine limitations, and costing variables.
  • Follow-up on customer specifications in regard to particular orders.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to assure all materials are ordered and received correctly and on time.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Additional duties as assigned by management.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • College Diploma
  • Candidates are PREFERRED who offer the following:
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Computer data-entry experience
  • Experience in the corrugated box industry

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write and interpret documents such as business and performance reports, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, the general public, managers, and other employees of the organization. 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, and volume.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.
  • Ability to read a tape measure and convert fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to generate and interpret graphical representations. 

REASONING ABILITY

  • Ability to solve a variety of problems and deal with a variety of situations where only limited information or standardization exists. Ability to apply critical thinking about tasks and projects (this involves logical thinking and reasoning including skills such as comparison, classification, sequencing, cause/effect, patterning, deductive and inductive reasoning, forecasting, planning, hyphothesizing, and critiquing).
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. 

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Computer literate (Microsoft Office)
  • Application knowledge of products and production processes

· Typing 40-60 WPM

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Employee is regularly required to walk and talk and hear, stand, and sit.
  • Vision requirements include: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • While performing the duties of this job in the plant, the employee is exposed to potentially hot and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and airborne particles. The noise level in the plant work environment is usually loud.

PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS

The performance of the Customer Account Manager will be measured as follows:

  • Operating standards - The employee will need to meet or exceed the Operating Standards set in the area of sales and customer service. Such standards will be set annually and communicated to the representative.
  • Personal growth - Each year there will be professional goals developed and agreed to by the representative and supervisor.
  • Employee relations – The employee will be evaluated regarding behaviors associated with appropriate human interaction, respect and communication.
  • Creativity - This will be evaluated by how active the employee is in participating in advancing the business through new and innovative ideas.
