We are seeking a proficient Insurance Verification/Billing Specialist with a minimum of 1 year experience in medical billing and accounts receivable to join our team.

• This position requires a team-player with excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and attention to details; experience with patient collections, and the ability to work independently and accurately in a fast-paced environment.
• Contact insurance carriers via website and phone regarding patient’s coverage.
• Responsible for acting as a liaison between patients, healthcare providers and insurance carriers.
• Reports to: Billing Manager
• Responsible for all aspects of insurance verification for new and establish patients.
• Ensures that patient demographic, insurance information, verification and eligibility have been established and documented.
• Verifies patient insurance eligibility and obtains necessary pre-authorization and referrals numbers, if required, prior to appointment date.
• Communicates and with clinical staff, physicians, administrators, and patients regarding insurance problems and/or discrepancies, and ensures all insurance information is current.
• Contact patients to collect balances.
• Set up payment plans where appropriate.
• Other duties in relation to medical billing as requested by the department manager.
• Attends all mandatory meetings and trainings; ensures knowledge is up to date in an ever-changing environment.
• Insurance Billing & Collections – minimum 1 year experience (Required)
• Familiar with CPT & ICD-10 coding (Required)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Prioritize work and manage time effectively to meet set requirements made by directors and managers
