A week in the life of an Information Systems Security Officer:

• Provide software testing, and vulnerability identification, management, and reporting.
• Coordinate activities with applicable cybersecurity policies and change management processes.
• Maintain security profiles and accreditations IAW AF and DoD directives (e.g., DoDD 8000.01, etc.).
• Manage Authority to Connect (ATC) and Authority to Operate (ATO) certificates.
• Ensure all documentation required by Federal Law, DoD Policy, AF, and local policy is complete prior deploying new servers or modification(s) to existing servers.
• Coordinate and maintain current documentation supporting RMF accreditation and Command Cyber Readiness Inspections (CCRIs) for servers and workstations.
• Maintain the Certification and Accreditation (C&A) processes according to the RMF on eMASS, ITIPS, and/or latest Government C&A reporting system.
• Coordinate software testing efforts as it relates to the software baseline requirements by RMF.
• Provide IAVM and STIG compliance reports.
• Coordinate vulnerability and compliance scanning, manage Cybersecurity Readiness Efforts.
• Perform annual Information Assurance (IA) audits/inspections of security procedures and business continuity plans

• Ability to obtain a DOD Secret clearance
• Hold an IAT II qualifying certification 
• 3-5 years of experience performing security inspections, applying STIGs and software patches, and developing plans of action and milestone schedules.
• Knowledge of DoDD 8000.01, DoD 8140, and CNSSI 1253, knowledge in RMF, C&A, ATO, and ATC processes.
• Skilled in the current versions of baseline Microsoft products (Windows, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word) and professional communication via written, telephonic, interpersonal, and electronic means.
