Case Credit Union is Hiring a Community Financial Education Coordinator Near Lansing, MI

POSITION PURPOSE
Develops educational programs for schools in CASE Credit Union's field of membership. Provide financial education curriculum to students and adults. Develop relationships with school personnel and community organizations. Creates online resource on CASE's website for educators and student's financial education related topics. Lead support on the Community Engagement Team. Conducts seminars for financial education periodically. Keeps abreast of current curriculum via workshops and literacy programs. Tracks data for the National Youth Involvement Board (NYIB) and the credit union.
This position is hybrid with duties in/around Lansing, MI.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
1. Responsible for creating youth education programs and materials.
a. Create appropriate financial education materials and teaching resources for students K-12. Include quizzes to test knowledge on the presented topic.
b. Customizes the curriculum to fit school and community needs.
c. Develop and online financial education video library that provides tips, teaches skills and provides resources on how to be financially responsible.
d. Monitors education programs to meet quality controls.
e. Provides data and reports success rates.
f. Creates materials and oversee the communication to youth organizations and curriculum for youth accounts.
2. Develops relationships with educators and community organizations to presents financial education seminars
a. Works with educators and other community leaders to effectively develop, promote and implement educational programs.
b. Identifies, develops, and manages all aspects of organizing and implementing programs.
c. Develops positive work relationships and interacts with educators regarding planning, coordination and service requests.
d. Research and evaluate various resources to create appropriate presentations.
e. Prepares visual presentation, provides appropriate take-away information for attendants.
f. Organizing education seminars for the community.
g. Trains CASE staff members to competently present curriculum in schools and community organizations.
3. Assists & Coordinates CASE Scholarship Program
a. Responsible for the development of scholarship application materials to be available for students to apply for various scholarship opportunities.
b. Create a communications plan to promote scholarship opportunities to students, school counselors, and members.
c. Responsible for gathering, tracking and preparing scholarship applications for review
d. Responsible for coordinate scholarship payments to scholarship recipient and/or school
e. Create and electronic file yearly applications and scholarship award winners.
4. Grant and Annual Awards
a. Develop and writes grants for the development and support of new programs at CASE.
b. Write and submit the annual education award submissions for MCUL and CUNA's education awards.
c. Responsible for implementing and tracking the awarded grant impact.
d. Recommend and coordinate other potential award sources, such as the NYIB
5. Engagement and Outreach
a. Participate in financial counseling group at CASE.
b. Earn and maintain Financial Counselor certification, complete re-certification course as required
c. Team Lead on the Education committee. Facilitates regular team meetings. Provide opportunities for CASE staff members to participate and teach in financial education sessions.
6. Related duties as required or assigned.
a. Lead and/or assist with the coordination and organization of the Credit Union's & community events.
b. Assists with the delivery of educational programs/courses to internal employees, community organizations and members
c. Completes special projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification: An Associate's degree in Communications, Finance/Business, Public Relations and/or a Teaching Certificate related field of study plus 3 years' experience OR Bachelor's degree plus 1-year experience in Communications, Finance/Business, Public Relations and/or Teaching Certificate
Experience Required: Related experience in public speaking, teaching and curriculum development
Preferred Knowledge: Basic knowledge of Credit Union operations. Understanding of financial education topics
