The Mediation Center of the Coastal Empire is a nonprofit organization dedicated to harnessing the power of qualified volunteers to facilitate the process of citizens proactively managing conflict, provide alternatives to litigation, and increase access to justice. Based in beautiful Savannah, Georgia, the Mediation Center helps underserved communities resolve legal issues and supports conflict prevention and resolution in the coastal region. The Mediation Center also supports children in the community through our Youth Programs and families who are encountering difficulties through the Family Law Resource Center. You will have the opportunity to learn about mediation, peacebuilding, and family law. We offer a variety of trainings throughout the year for our volunteers, including mediation training, dialogue facilitation training, and more. As the VISTA, you will help build financial capacity for the agency, enhance the visibility of the services offered, and strengthen the Mediation Center’s use of volunteers.

Member Duties : The Outreach and Community Relations VISTA will support the Mediation Center in their mission to increase awareness of conflict prevention and resolution methods, build skills in the community, and provide education of how to use these methods to create change. The VISTA responsibilities will be to grow and strengthen our community partnerships, assist in grant research, and market and evaluate our services and programs.
