The Georgia 4-H VISTA project will seek to increase participation of low-income youth in research-based 4-H programming, which has been shown to improve school performance, community engagement and healthy decision making. The project goal is to engage an additional 50 low-income youth and/or youth whose family is bilingual per year in 4-H programming, by expanding 4-H volunteer-led club programming resources and developing leaders. This member will increase resources to support youth, develop or expand funding streams (through grants and sustainable fundraisers), and expand volunteer-led clubs and initiatives that target the underserved population. Newly formed clubs will focus on areas such as student performance improvement, social-emotional skill development, healthy living improvement, and emergency readiness.
