AmeriCorps is Hiring a West St. Paul Healthy Housing Organizer Near Bloomington, MN
We are seeking someone who is passionate about listening and learning from the community and finding unique methods to engage with renters. We seek to ensure that rental properties in the community are meeting renter expectations as well as City standards, and that renters have both a voice and resources to ensure they are live in a healthy home. At the end of one year of service you will have developed a comprehensive guide both online and in print so that renters have a one-stop option to obtain resources. You will have helped build our knowledge base and implemented solutions to renter engagement. You will have connected renters’ and landlord/management groups to help build common ground. You will have helped to establish new processes that will likely be replicated by other organizations. The City of West St. Paul, MN is an innovative and community focused city organization serving a community of nearly 22,000 people, approximately half of whom rent their homes. The City has a strong interest in ensuring that community members who rent their homes have the same opportunities for engagement with the City and the Community as community members who own their homes. We know you will be successful because of the organization of support around you – from the community to the council to the leadership of the City and through the staff, this project is of utmost strategic importance. You will truly be a part of something bigger that will impact not only our community, but communities in the region, and possibly the nation. There may be opportunities for travel out of state (if we are selected for the National League of Cities Healthy Housing Cohort) and in state. You may even be asked to present at a conference or workshop for other communities! Further help on this page can be found by clicking here .
