Position Overview:
The Debt Collector will be responsible for contacting merchants with overdue accounts, negotiating repayment plans, and ensuring timely recovery of funds. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a firm but empathetic demeanor, and a proven ability to manage collections in a respectful and effective manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contact merchants via phone, email, and other communication methods to discuss overdue accounts.
- Negotiate repayment plans that are mutually agreeable while adhering to company policies and legal regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of interactions, payment agreements, and account updates in the CRM system.
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve disputes or discrepancies regarding balances.
- Meet and exceed monthly recovery targets and performance metrics.
- Stay informed on industry best practices and compliance requirements related to debt collection.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in debt collection, preferably in the merchant cash advance or financial services industry.
- Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong knowledge of collection laws and regulations.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and maintain professionalism in challenging situations.
