Amerisure is currently recruiting for a Vice President, Transformation Office that can do a 3-day hybrid approach onsite in our Farmington Hills office. The ideal candidate will also possess the following skill set.
Summary StatementThe Vice President, Transformation Office is a senior executive responsible for leading Amerisure’s digital transformation. This includes overseeing the corporate transformation program, enterprise projects and product portfolio, and business process engineering and change management functions. In this role, the Vice President is responsible for delivering innovation and change within the organization, ensuring that the company's systems and processes are aligned with its strategic goals, and continuing Amerisure’s business agility journey. They work closely with other senior leaders to develop and implement strategies for improving efficiency, productivity, and profitability, while fostering an agile culture that encourages continuous improvement and adaptation. The Vice President, Transformation Office must have a strategic perspective, strong leadership skills, excellent communication and collaboration abilities, financial acumen, a bias for action, and a deep understanding of the company's operations and industry.
Essential Tasks/Major Duties
  • Strategic Leadership: Developing and executing a transformation roadmap that aligns with corporate strategy and long-term goals. This involves setting clear objectives, identifying key initiatives, and ensuring these align with business strategy. Collaborating with other senior leaders to align the company's systems and processes with its strategic goals.
  • Talent Management: Leading and directing staff, focusing on talent management and succession planning.
  • Innovation Advisory: Advising on innovation advances to impact business operations and strategy; Driving change and innovation within the organization to improve efficiency, productivity, and profitability; executing a multi-year innovation plan ensuring results from innovation activities.
  • Portfolio Leadership: Ensure that the portfolio of projects and programs aligns with the organization's strategic objectives and delivers maximum value. This includes overseeing investment decisions, resource allocation, and portfolio optimization.
  • Performance Measurement: Establish metrics and KPIs to measure the success of transformation initiatives. Monitor and report on the progress of these initiatives, ensuring that they are driving the desired outcomes and making necessary adjustments to stay on track.
  • Program and Project Oversight: Oversee the Program Management Office (PMO) and ensure that programs and projects are delivered successfully, adding value to the organization. This involves prioritizing projects, allocating resources efficiently, and ensuring that projects meet their objectives and are delivered on time and within budget. Ensure defined project methodologies provide structure for predictable delivery standards, metrics, milestones, and outcomes.
  • Business Process Engineering: Identify and implement process improvements across the organization to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. This involves analyzing current processes, identifying areas for improvement, and designing and implementing new processes that drive operational excellence.
  • Change Leadership: Lead organizational change initiatives driven by transformation portfolio, ensuring that changes are smoothly and successfully implemented. This includes managing resistance to change, communicating effectively with stakeholders at all levels, and ensuring that the workforce is engaged and equipped to adapt to new ways of working.
  • Cultural Leadership: Foster a culture of innovation, agility, and continuous improvement within the organization. Encourage a mindset that embraces change and challenges the status quo in pursuit of organizational excellence.
  • Agile Leadership: Leading the adoption of agile strategies and fostering an agile culture across the organization. Integrate agile methodologies into transformation initiatives to enhance flexibility, responsiveness, and innovation. Promote an agile mindset across the organization to foster a culture of continuous improvement, adaptability, and collaborative problem-solving.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Communicating, collaborating, and influencing stakeholders at all levels of the organization and ensuring buy-in for transformation initiatives. This involves clear and effective communication, addressing concerns, and ensuring that the voices of various stakeholders are considered in the transformation process.
  • Risk Management: Anticipating, identifying, and mitigating risks associated with transformation initiatives, ensuring that potential obstacles are addressed proactively and do not derail the organization's strategic objectives.
  • Industry Awareness: Staying up-to-date with industry trends and developments to ensure the company remains competitive.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work-related experience.
  • 15 years of progressive leadership experience.
  • 7 years experience leading transformative efforts
  • 7 years financial services/insurance industry experience preferred.
  • 10 years project delivery experience including agile and waterfall methodologies.
  • 5 years progressively responsible experience developing and implementing digital products and services.
  • 5 years experience or exposure to industry standard business process methodologies such as lean six sigma.
  • Familiarity with design thinking or other innovation and experimentation processes, preferred.
  • Experience leading insurance core system or ERP implementations.
  • Ability to lead and manage organizational change with ability to predict, recognize and manage cultural and technological changes within the organization and to promptly prescribe corresponding transitions.
  • Strong technology industry relationships with knowledge of the insurance industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate technical capability into business opportunity.
  • Strong leadership capability with experience in building and leading highly successful teams.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively build relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to think strategically with supporting analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to deal with ambiguity.
  • Ability to lead discussions, make presentations and deliver technical results to a non-technical audience.
  • Ability to identify, assess and mitigate risks.
  • Ability to travel overnight up to 10%.
