Ameritex Machine and Fabrication is a high mix, quick turn, and ISO 9001 2015 certified sheet metal and structural fabrication facility that uses a variety of equipment such as CNC Fiber Lasers, CNC punch presses, CNC press brakes, and tube lasers to support multiple assembly lines. As a rapid parts manufacturer, our company serves customers in energy, power generation, oil and gas, automotive, electric vehicle, and aerospace. We operate out of a state of the art 100,000 sqft facility in Conroe, Texas.
We are seeking a meticulous and skilled Metal Fabrication Quality Inspector to ensure our products meet the highest standards of quality and compliance. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of welding processes, materials, and quality control procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
· Conduct thorough inspections of metal fabricated components and assemblies to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
· Examine welded joints for defects such as cracks, porosity, and incomplete fusion using visual inspection, ultrasonic testing, and other non-destructive testing (NDT) methods.
· Verify dimensions and tolerances of finished parts using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
· Document inspection results, prepare detailed reports, and maintain accurate records of quality assurance activities.
· Collaborate with production and engineering teams to identify and address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
· Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, including ASME, AWS, and ISO standards.
· Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and manufacturing processes.
· Provide training and guidance to welding personnel on quality standards and best practices.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree in welding technology, quality assurance, or a related field is preferred.
· Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in metal fabrication and welding inspection.
· Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
· Strong understanding of welding processes (e.g., MIG, TIG, Stick), materials, and metallurgy.
· Experience with non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques and equipment.
· Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
· Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
· Proficient in using quality management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
· College associate or higher degree in engineering or welding technology.
· Experience with project management and time management.
· Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification or equivalent is highly desirable.
· Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems.
