This role supports the Plant Manager and Production Manager in directing and arranging the manufacturing/production processes while leading the team to success. Mentors, coaches, develops the Team Members in the assigned department to follow company policies and procedures and to obtain the goals and objectives set for the department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, but are not limited to:

• Champions all the environmental health and safety initiatives for the area and/or the facility.
• Ensures all team members follow the EHS Standards and OSHA requirements for our industry.
• Mentors, guides, and supervises the team members in the assigned area and/or facility while ensuring the production standards are met.
• Effectively communicates production goals to the teams daily.
• Assists the Production Manager in reviewing and updating the production schedules to ensure all equipment and Team Members assigned are ready for production.
• Communicates and escalates all challenges to the Plant Manager to ensure the daily production schedules are met.
• Escalates quality and operational issues to the Production Manager and/or Plant Manager seeking resolution and to make necessary production adjustments.
• Communicates with the Maintenance Department to coordinate equipment repairs and issues or faults that may hinder performance of the facility in any way.
• Periodically inspects the quality of the concrete batches and product appearance and ensure that all finishing techniques are being implemented.
• Collaborates in the recruiting process for the team members In the area and/or facility.
• Completes daily and weekly time and attendance tasks to ensure accurate payroll processes and payments.
• Leads the performance management process and disciplinary actions for his direct reports.
• All other assignments are based on the needs of the business.

EDUCATION

• Associate’s degree in related field or three years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.

EXPERIENCE

• Five to ten years of experience in a construction environment and performing a supervisory role.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, team members, customers, and the general public. Production managers must be able to speak with employees, other department managers and senior management.

Time Management

Production Superintendent face production deadlines, shipping dates and more and must manage their time accordingly.
