Bilco is looking for an Accounting Supervisor to join our team! In this role you will be responsible for overseeing the accounting department's daily operations and financial functions. This position includes managing daily transactions, accounting responsibilities, internal controls, variance analysis and coordinating financial forecasts and corrective action recommendations, where required, in a continuous improvement environment. This position requires strong accounting, analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
An ideal candidate will be located near one of our facilities in either New Haven, CT; Trumann, AR; or Zanesville, OH and will be eligible to work on a hybrid schedule.
Essential Duties / Responsibilities
  • Coordinate efforts of a team of three - Senior Accountant, Staff Accountant and Accounting Assistant. Manage one direct report, the Accounting Assistant.
  • Monitor the daily performance of the accounting department, ensuring effective controls are in place to ensure accurate and complete accounting in accordance with IFRS accounting standards and AmesburyTruth and Tyman policies.
  • Responsible for maintaining The BILCO Company general ledger (B/S P/L), includes coordination of all processes to ensure completion of the month end closing activities and variance analysis for loading into the OneStream consolidation system for submission of flash and actual results.
  • Review and approval of balance sheet and income statement account analyses/reconciliations prepared by accountants ensuring adequate supporting documentation including follow-up and resolution of reconciling items
  • Ensure completion of KPI Reporting, reconciliation of Internal/External Intercompany balances, task completion in accordance with BILCO Close Calendar, and other various duties.
  • Manage Sales Tax software and filings.
  • Audit - Assist with internal/external auditors, monitor requests.
  • Maintain and enhance communication channels and feedback mechanisms with Operations to enhance forecast accuracy and Identify risks to Plan achievement.
  • Maintain the cooperation and support of team members company-wide through effective interdepartmental communications, includes Corporate Accounting Manager and Shared Services (A/P A/R) teams in remote offices.
  • Ability to perform project work and financial analysis including business unit requests and assist as requested with ad hoc projects and analysis.
  • Work with various systems, ensure reconciliation of data, and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or warranted.
Requirements
Qualifications / Prior Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 7-10 years of experience in General Accounting.
  • 3 years of Supervisory experience.
  • Cost Accounting experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office, with strong Excel skills.
  • SAP S/4 HANA, OneStream and integrated ERP system experience preferred

  • Highly self-motivated/detail-oriented individual with strong organization skills.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret operating results and complicated data and prepare concise, accurate, and timely reporting.
  • Ability to assess range of outcomes and risk, evaluate opportunities, and present conclusions.
  • Strong systems skills including ability to utilize OneStream, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other software as necessary.
  • Ability to present financial data using detailed reports and charts.
  • Confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information.
  • Strong work ethic and sense of personal responsibility for work outcomes.
  • Possess strong communication skills (verbal, written, and interpersonal).
  • Ability to work in a team environment, build strong relationships, and influence up and down in the organization.
  • Proven ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and multi-task as necessary to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrates ability to initiate and lead process improvement.
