The PositionAMEWAS, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and talented Engineer (Model Based System Engineering)-Journeyman to support Battlespace Modeling & Simulation. The salary range of this position is $85,000.00 to $155,000.00, and is commensurate with experience. This position is not eligible for remote work; on-site support is required. Position BackgroundThe System Architecture Branch (SAB) team is a government run organization that architects the development of software products supporting modeling and simulation (M&S) environments. The Synthetic Environment Modeling SEM product users include trainer systems; test and evaluation (T&E); analysis; live, virtual and constructive (LVC); research and development (R&D) activities for DoD agencies and its international partners. All products are government owned, developed and managed. The Next Generation Threat System (NGTS) is the flagship product. NGTS is a continually evolving synthetic environment generator that supports multiple platform/services training, testing, analysis and research and development. A typical day as an Engineer (Model Based System Engineering)-Journeyman may include:
Develops hardware and software models and simulations that support the Joint Simulation Environment (JSE) Technical Baseline (JTB)
Designs, develops, tests and documents simulations in SysML Camel System Modeler
Uses Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and SysML diagramming skillsets while using aerospace system principles
Works independently and with software development teams in support of customer training and demonstrations
Must-haves
BS Degree in Computer Science or Engineering-Degrees in Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Aerospace, Computer, Software Systems, Electrical, Electronic or Mechanical Engineering may qualify as substitute
4 years of relevant work experience
Experience in Model Based Systems Engineering principals
Possesses strong analytical and communication skills
Possesses the ability to work individually and with teams
Possesses a basic understanding of aerospace systems principals
The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance
Desired Skills
Experience with employing MBSE approach and tools (Cameo Systems Modeler Preferred)
