The PositionAMEWAS is seeking a highly motivated and talented Procurement Associate-Junior to support the AMEWAS Corporate Office. Provides procurement support to a wide variety of standard and specialized procurement activities through application of innovative/creative techniques
Interfaces with technical organizations in development of pre-procurement plans, statements of work and cost estimates to achieve timely cost-effective procurement actions
Follows established policies and procedures to negotiate, place and administer purchase orders
Makes modifications with suppliers for complex material and service requirements
Prepares solicitation documents and awards subcontracts in Firm-Fixed Price, Time & Material, Labor Hour and Cost Reimbursement environments
Prepares written procurement documents such as Request for Proposals (RFP), negotiation memorandums, cost/price analyses, award justifications and consent packages to document procurement files
Participates in section and department wide acquisition reviews as required
Processes purchase requests
Places purchase orders above the micro-purchase threshold
Tracks placed orders
Communicates with customers
Files and answers phones
Other duties as assigned
Must-haves
HS Diploma or equivalent
2 years of relevant work experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Teams
Experience in government procurement, contracting or related field
Experience in federal contract management working with Department of Defense (DOD)
Knowledge and understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Federal Travel Regulations (FTR)
The ability to maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance-Secret Clearance required to start

Physical Environment And Working ConditionsThe physical environment requires the employee to work in an office, sitting in a cubicle or at a desk, looking at a computer for most of the workday. Work is physically comfortable. The employee has discretion about sitting, walking, standing, etc. The employee may be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site. In some occasions, the employee may be required to report to offices or buildings near the work site. In rare occasions, overnight travel may be required. The physical environment requires the employee to stand, walk and/or move throughout the workday, often bending over and lifting items up to approximately 50 lbs.
