The PositionAMEWAS is seeking a highly motivated and talented Software Developer (Hybrid)-Senior to support Battlespace Modeling & Simulation. This position is eligible for hybrid work. Position BackgroundThe Synthetic Environment Modeling (SEM) team is a government run organization that develops an advanced suite of software products supporting modeling and simulation (M&S) environments. The SEM product users include trainer systems; test and evaluation (T&E); analysis; live, virtual and constructive (LVC); research and development (R&D) activities for DoD agencies and its international partners. All products are government owned, developed and managed. The Next Generation Threat System (NGTS) is the flagship product. NGTS is a continually evolving synthetic environment generator that supports multiple platform/services training, testing, analysis and research and development. A typical day as a Software Developer (Hybrid)-Senior may include:
Develops software that is integrated into flight simulators to support pilot training against potential threats for an advanced synthetic training environment
Supports software development, software integration, customer training and demonstrations
Demonstrates a knowledge of standard program algorithms, design patterns and object-oriented software design
Evaluates and reviews C language code
Programs using C , Python 3 and HTML
Develops parallel processes, threading and process communications
Develops web-based applications using developmental technology
Collaborates with team members to design future enhancements
Must-haves
BS Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, Physics, Aerospace, Computers, Software Systems, Electrical, Electronics or Mechanical Engineering with at least 1 year of C experience
10 years of relevant work experience
Experience with scripting, databases and programming in C
The ability to accommodate a hybrid schedule (1-2 days a week in office) with a mandatory 2-3 month on site training period (Managers discretion)
The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance
Desired Skills
Experience with scripting, databases and programming in Python 3/HTML
Experience supporting Special Access Program (SAP) efforts
Familiarity with time-series analysis
