YesPatient Types:Free standing acute inpatient facility – contracted ER 5 min awayAll patients come from an ED and are medically clearednot typical to have lines, drains, tubes, etc.Children and Adolescents receiving inpatient Mental Health services – ages 5 - 18Common diagnoses include, but are not limited to: Eating Disorders, Depression, Suicidal Ideation, Anxiety, Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Gender DysphoriaTraditional medical and psychiatric care in addition to specialized therapies such as: pet therapy, group sessions, recreation therapy (rock wall), community gardensPatient Ratios:RN: Day – 1:5-6; Night – 1:16 with resource support (including Nursing support)Psych Techs: Day – 6 Psych Techs; Night – 3 Psych TechsRequired Certifications:BLSMOAB is obtained on site (part of orientation)Skills required:De-escalation experience, experience with physical restraintsSupport on the Unit:Nurse Supervisor – available evenings/weekendsNurse Manager - daysHouse Administrator - available overnight and weekendsCharge nurse – has patient assignmentPsych TechsNurse Practitioner; on site until 1600 and then on call overnightPsychiatrist – daily rounds and On Call 0000-0600Occupational Therapist – 0800-1630, 7 days per weekCharting System/Equipment:CernerPyxisFloating: If yes, where?Yes – between two pediatric unitsOrientation: (facility and unit)2 weeks Mon-Fri - Days2 (12’s) on shift contracted toScheduling:Weekend rotation: every other; Sat/SunBlock scheduling cannot be guaranteedWill they be on call?
