Thousands of children need extra help to achieve grade-level skills in reading and math. Take action as a tutor and give kids more — more opportunities, more success and more confidence.
As a Lead Tutor, you’ll be placed at a local school where you’ll help students grow their academic skills. In addition to tutoring, you’ll utilize the skills you’ve learned through service to provide mentoring and leadership to fellow tutors and assist with program initiatives, member training and more. With training and on-site coaching, we’ll prepare you to help kids succeed and support fellow tutors.
We are currently recruiting Lead Tutors for the 2024-25 school year. Service will begin in August 2024. Only applicants who have previously served with our programs in Reading Corps, Math Corps or Early Learning Corps will be considered for this opportunity.
This is an AmeriCorps member position and a great opportunity to take your skills to the next level.

*Applicants who have received deferred action for childhood arrivals (DACA) through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security are not eligible to serve as AmeriCorps members at this time.
