AMPCUS is Hiring a Human Resources - Research Librarian Research Librarian Near Washington, DC

Job Description: TMP Job Description -- Research Associate for *** Research
The Research Associate will support *** Research's Analytics and Audiences Team. He/Shewill work across both Analytics and Audiences team. One will require GIS and SPSS work and other will require data analysis, finding meaning and pattern in the data. Both divisions will also require management tasks to keep their projects running on time.
The main job responsibilities are as follows:
GIS and Maps
* Put large datasets together; Convert large Census data sets in to SPSS, and Analyze under guidance from other team members
* Prepare datasets and attributes table that can be converted into *** Maps (internal Maps app that *** has deigned based on Arc GIS)
* Answer requests on *** Maps using Arc GIS/ Arc GIS online
* Use Arc GIS to create maps that would help clients understand a geographic phenomenon
* Keep *** Maps content up to date by making sure that latest data (either from *** sources, Census, or other sources) is reflected in maps.
Research
* Desk research on a topic or question to provide background, context or situational analysis.
* Data runs, simple cross tabs and pulling descriptives from SPSS datasets
* Reviewing survey programs; and programming for questionnaires
* Creating or evaluating data analysis plans
* Assessing data for accuracy and analyzing data for insights
* Writing topline findings and insights summaries
* Preparing research reports and communication documents for dissemination
* Collaborating with other *** departments
Management
* Search for new vendors and identify external SMEs.
* Reviewing research outputs received from vendors
* Help managing vendors, coordinating meetings, creating and managing project schedules, working with internal departments to provide admin support (PCM, AP, Events, stakeholder teams)
* Organizing, managing, and supporting research requests for proposal. Including drafting of supplier Requests for Proposal, communication with suppliers, coordination of meetings and follow ups, liaison to Procurement and Contract Management and all *** contracting requirements
This position requires a significant amount of team consultation and collaboration. Required skills:
Analytical Skills
* At least 5 years of public opinion or market research experience required. Must have a good grasp of research. Experience with questionnaire design required. Must be able to edit and fact check reports.
* Strong analytical skills required. Can apply logical understanding of the numbers, interpret meaning. Proven ability to create a data story preferred.
* Comfortable with quantitative data, proficient with cross-tabs and/or basic data descriptives. Experience with qualitative methods a plus.
* Knowledge areas of one or more of our audiences (Hispanics, AA/B, Asian Americans, Veterans, LGBTQ , People with Disabilities) would be a plus.
Software Skills
* Strong SPSS skills required. Experience working with large datasets preferred.
* ArcMap/ArcGIS Online experience required.
* Tableau experience not required but will be highly valued
* Adept with Microsoft Office software including Excel and Teams
Work Skills
* Must think critically and strategically
* Attention to detail. Proven track record of understanding and negotiating expectations, and being able to work on a schedule/deadline. Should have professional maturity.
* Must have the ability manage multiple tasks
* Excellent analytical and communication skills required
Written Test
Please note that the hiring process will involve a test on quantitative reasoning, ArcGIS and SPSS.
The Research Associate will report to the Director, Analytics and Audiences.
NOTES:
The candidate does not have to be physically located in the DC metro area. The preference would be for someone situated in the Eastern time zone, but the Central time zone would be okay.
