Ampersand Sexual Violence Resource Center of the Bluegrass is Hiring a Regional Coordinator Near Frankfort, KY

Position: Regional Coordinator

Status: Non-exempt, Full-time

Summary: The Regional Coordinator will be responsible for providing advocacy and crisis counseling to survivors, their families, and friends, as well as outreach to communities in the Western half of our seventeen-county service region. This position is based in Frankfort, with the option to complete some remote work on a hybrid framework. The Regional Coordinator works closely with a team of other Regional Coordinators to serve our seventeen counties. There is a strong preference for a candidate with Spanish fluency. The Regional Coordinator reports directly to the Advocacy Lead.

Essential Duties

· Provide crisis intervention counseling, medical and legal advocacy, support, and referral services to survivors, as well as their friends and family.

· Consult with area professionals about working with and serving survivors of sexual assault.

· Frequent travel within the seventeen-county region we serve is required.

· Participation in an after-hours on-call rotation is required.

· Develop and facilitate survivor-centered workshops.

· Provide community education on sexual violence and outreach.

· Participate in local taskforces and committees that address sexual violence issues.

· Meet regularly with other crisis intervention staff to evaluate the quality and appropriateness of services provided.

· Complete all required client and outreach paperwork to facilitate data collection.

· Consult with supervisors and colleages to obtain feedback and process issues that arise from working with survivors.

· Contribute to atmosphere of teamwork and mutual respect among staff and volunteers.

Qualifications

· Understanding and dedication to Ampersand’s mission, vision, and values.

· Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, public health, gender studies, or a related field.

· Completion of 40-hour advocacy training provided by Ampersand, and 12 hours of continuing education yearly.

· Ability to pass background check and reference checks.

· Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Desired Qualities

· Residents of the seventeen-county region preferred. The region includes Anderson, Bourbon, Boyle, Clark, Estill, Fayette, Franklin, Garrard, Harrison, Jessamine, Lincoln, Madison, Mercer, Nicholas, Powell, Scott, and Woodford counties.

· Spanish-language fluency.

· One to two years of relevant experience.

· Knowledge of dynamics of trauma and impact of sexual violence.

· Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends.

· Excellent interpersonal skills and communication.

· Ability to adapt to crisis situations and work under stress.

· Strong time management and decision-making skills.

· Experience with anti-violence work and prevention.

· Ability to perform other job duties as assigned.

· Work Environment: The duties of this position are performed in a typical administrative office setting but also require traveling. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level of the environment is usually minimal.

· Equipment: Typical office equipment such as computer, telephone, copier, projector, printer, display materials, group polling technology, etc.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $42,000.00 per year
