Oregon Public Schools is Hiring a 2024 - 25 SY 0.5 FTE - 1.0 FTE School Psychologist Near Eugene, OR

Successful candidates will receive Bethel School District's $3,000 Special Education Hiring Incentive!

Educators must be fully and appropriately licensed by Teacher Standards and Practices Commission (TSPC) to be eligible for this incentive. Restricted license holders will not be eligible.

$1,000 bonus after 30 days of work

$500 in December paycheck

$500 in March paycheck

$1,000 in June at the conclusion of the school year

Bethel School District is seeking appropriately licensed candidates for a .5 FTE - 1.0 FTE School Psychologist for the 2024-25 school year. The District seeks a dynamic individual to join the Student Services team. This position works closely with specialists, consultants, other District School Psychologists, and administrators.

Job summary:

School Psychologist: To serve as a specialized staff member in evaluating students' academic skills, learning aptitudes, emotional development, adaptive behavior, and social skills.

Successful Candidates Will:

Work effectively and collaboratively with diverse student, staff and community populations

Follow-up appropriately on all referrals for psycho-educational assessment services

Use a wide variety of assessment techniques to evaluate students' academic skills, learning aptitudes, emotional development, adaptive behavior, and social skills

Integrate assessment data into a concise, organized, and educationally relevant evaluation report

Attend Student Support Team (SST) meetings, IEP meetings, eligibility planning meetings, eligibility meetings, and special education team meetings in assigned schools

Respond to questions from parents/guardians concerning the evaluation process and district procedures

Maintain accurate, complete and confidential records as required by federal and state law, district policy, and administrative regulations

Maintain compliance with state and federal rules for establishing special education eligibility and completing evaluations

Be knowledgeable about positive behavioral supports and the appropriate implementation of academic and behavioral intervention plans

Work harmoniously with others and communicate effectively (both orally and in writing) with students, parents/guardians, and staff

Work as an active, contributing team member of school and district teams and to solve problems and create new opportunities

Facilitate and mediate difficult meetings where there are conflicting interests or opinions regarding special education services for individual students

Follow district and school policies, procedures, rules, regulations, and guidelines, and the provisions of the contract and exercises professional judgment when acting in the absence of a covering guideline or policy

Maintain unconditional positive regard for all students, staff, families, and colleagues

Fully support and implement Social Emotional Learning, encouraging students to build self-awareness, self-management and relationship skills

Understand and attend to the impacts of implicit bias in education and educational evaluations

Perform other duties as requested by the Student Services Director

Minimum qualifications:

Possess an Oregon Teaching License valid for assignment by the start of the school year

Experience working with children, youth, and families in a counseling role

Culturally proficient skills and strategies
