AMPI owns seven Midwest-based manufacturing plants where 10 percent of the nation’s American-type cheese, processed cheese and butter is produced. The cooperative’s award-winning cheese, butter and powdered dairy products are marketed to foodservice, retail and food ingredient customers. In 2019, the co-op launched its Dinner Bell Creamery brand and accompanying Co-op Crafted promise, highlighting more than 50 years of dairy farm families partnering with skilled buttermakers and cheesemakers.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

1. All AMPI employees have an obligation to report employee safety, food safety and food quality issues to the personnel of authority.
2. Maintaining correct inventory levels of parts.
3. Performs cycle counts of inventory and makes recommendations for changes to stocking quantities.
4. Maintain parts inventory spreadsheet and migration to CMMS.
5. Maintains accurate counts, re-order points, and max inventory in CMMS.
6. Participates in process improvements.
7. Manages and performs kitting process for planned work.
8. Maintains kitting area
9. Works closely with the scheduler/planner to ensure parts are on hand for jobs.
10. Have a continuous improvement mindset when spending time in the parts areas, finding quick wins and completing projects as needed.
11. Issues POs for purchases
12. Works in a safe manner always and wears all required personal protective equipment to perform specified jobs.
13. Collects data to determine effectiveness of implemented process improvements.
14. Periodically comparing prices and quality of parts to find the best solution for our needs.
15. Learn and assist with quality inspections including finish product, regulatory, compliance, pest control, employee GMPs, training compliance and HACCP compliance.
16. Understand and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices.
17. Perform documentation review and inspection of materials.
18. Work on projects to improve employee, process and plant efficiencies.
19. Maintains a clean and well-organized parts room(s)
20. Learn to work safely and efficiently, while maintaining accuracy.
21. Work closely with maintenance team and planner.
