Business Sales Development Executive - (BSDE)

And at the heart of all is a complex network of unique sensors that allow for unparalleled sensitivity and control — and savings. We currently have an opening for a Sales Executive.

The Sales Executive is a mid-level sales position who serves as the primary relationship owner for an assigned group of client accounts in a specified geography with responsibility for winning new clients and new business from existing clients. First and foremost, the SE must be a sales “hunter” placing our systems in new accounts. The SE ensures clients understand and realize our value proposition and guides them through our sales process to choose our products and services.

The SE identifies new opportunities utilizing market data from the company and external sources as well as personal experience. He/she develops lasting and valuable relationships with clients. The SE prepares and delivers effective client presentations for stakeholders at all levels of the organization, including property owners, property management groups, boiler contractors, and others. The SE delivers regular status and result updates to internal and external teams including pipeline development and forecasts. The SE partners with not only the Business Development team, but everyone to aid in increasing revenue ensuring a deep enough understanding of clients’ individual experiences to win new clients and head off potential issues before they become problems. The SE is involved in regular business/sales planning (quarterly and/or annual).

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree, MBA preferred, or similar experience
  • Minimum of 3 years successful experience as a direct sales executive carrying an individual quota
  • Will have accomplished the following:
    • Experience independently closing individual accounts with revenue over $300K
    • Average deal size $15K
  • Experience with sales to multi-family apartment building owner or property management market preferred
  • Experience working with contractors and engineers, including boiler companies, construction, lighting, insulations, and security preferred
  • Tech savvy – must have a basic understanding of our technology/products
  • Experience working for a small company with a growth focus preferred. Willing to figure things out on own, not waiting for exact instructions. Takes initiative
  • Ability and experience selling to all levels within the organization including C-Suite level; willing to push through all departments to win the sale
  • Experience managing and directing the entire sales cycle from lead to close
  • Proven track record of consistently exceeding assigned annual/quarterly goals and targets, including a track record in closing large, complex deals
  • Candidate will be strategic in finding new business using market data and technical knowledge
  • Creation and execution of quarterly and annual business plans
  • Good executive presence engendering credibility with exceptional communication skills to customers and team members
  • Attentive to forecasting and business reporting responsibilities
  • Disciplined use of a CRM to record customer interactions, build a sales pipeline, provide accurate forecasts, and track sales progress
