Amplify is seeking an experienced senior leader with project management expertise to play a critical role in planning, executing, and delivering large scale cross-functional initiatives and creative-focused projects, ensuring impactful solutions end up in the hands of our users.
The Executive Director, Product, Literacy, Strategic Projects will guide the cross-functional teams through all phases of development, acting as the steward of project goals, keeping the team aligned, and ensuring delivery within the expected constraints.
The Executive Director, Product, Literacy, Strategic Projects will collaborate and manage stakeholders, and ensure that projects are delivered on time with the highest quality standards. This role requires a deep understanding of digital product development processes, creative design, strong leadership and communication skills, the ability to effectively prioritize based on strategic priorities, and the capacity to drive results in a fast-paced environment
Responsibilities Of The Executive Director, Product, Literacy, Strategic Projects
  • Project Planning and Execution: Lead the comprehensive project planning and execution of strategic Amplify Literacy projects, overseeing every phase from inception to delivery, ensuring alignment with objectives, organizational priorities, deadlines, and quality benchmarks, throughout the project life cycle.
  • Risk and Issue Management: Identify and communicate risks and issues, create mitigation plans, identify and manage dependencies, and drive issues to resolution
  • Cross-Functional Team Leadership: In partnership with the product and content leads, serve as a key leader of cross-functional teams, consisting of designers, content developers, engineering, marketers, and other stakeholders. Provide clear direction, set expectations, and empower team members to achieve project goals.
  • Leadership & Stakeholder Communication: Serve as central communication leader ensuring team members/stakeholders are appropriately informed and provided opportunity for input/direction, lead project tradeoff discussions and drive decisions to keep projects moving forward to fruition.
  • Stakeholder Management: Manage stakeholder expectations by setting realistic goals, timelines, and deliverables. Address any concerns or issues raised by stakeholders in a timely and effective manner, and work collaboratively to find solutions.
  • Conflict Resolution: Identify and address conflicts or disagreements among stakeholders, and facilitate dialogue to reach consensus and resolve issues. Act as a mediator when necessary to maintain positive relationships and drive project success.
  • Quality Assurance and Process Improvement: Establish and maintain quality standards for project deliverables. Conduct regular reviews and feedback loops to ensure compliance with quality requirements. Partner with leads and cross-functional teammates to define repeatable, scalable processes and look for opportunities to componentize, streamline, and improve what we make and the ways we work.
  • Resource Management: Allocate resources effectively to ensure optimal utilization and efficiency across projects. Identify and address resource constraints proactively. Identify and manage freelancers and vendors.
Basic Qualifications of the Executive Director, Product, Literacy, Strategic Projects:
  • BA/BS or equivalent experience
  • 5 years of experience in K-12 product development
  • 10 years of experience in project management, production, and/or product delivery
  • Experience designing and developing print and digital products for education
  • Ability to tailor messages and presentations to specific audiences
  • Strong organizational skills and great attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong relationship builder
  • Strategic thinker
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications of the Executive Director, Product, Literacy, Strategic Projects:
  • Background in technology, design, user experience, and product management
  • Client service experience either in consulting or another field
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
What We OfferSalary is only one component of the Amplify Total Rewards package, which includes a lucrative 401(k) plan, competitive health insurance and mental health options, basic life insurance, paid time off, parental leave, and access to best-in-class development programs. The gross annualized salary range for this role is $160k - $175k. This role is eligible to receive an annual discretionary bonus that rewards individual and company performance.
