AmSpec Group is Hiring a Laboratory Technician Near Mickleton, NJ

Job DescriptionJob SummaryThe Laboratory Technician is responsible for analyzing client and quality control samples, while adhering to the overall Laboratory Quality System. The Laboratory Technician is also tasked with daily maintenance of laboratory equipment and instruments.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Performing laboratory analysis of customer samples in accordance with the latest versions of standard methods and other documented procedures, and AmSpec Agri’s overall Quality Assurance Program.
  • Preparation of chemical standards and reagents.
  • Routine analysis of quality control samples.
  • Routine calibration and verification of measuring equipment and instruments.
  • Timely reporting of analytical results.
  • Identification and investigation of non-conforming results, to be reported to the Laboratory Manager.
  • Responding to investigation of laboratory-related client concerns or complaints.
  • Recordkeeping of laboratory data, including sample and chemical preparations, as well as quality control data.
  • Upkeep and orderliness of laboratory work area.
  • Any other tasks assigned by the Laboratory Manager.
Skills/Qualifications Required
  • At a minimum, High School Diploma. Bachelor’s degree in chemical, biological, environmental or physical sciences is preferred. Work experience in laboratory analysis is a plus.
  • Willingness and technical ability to be trained on laboratory methods.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Thorough understanding of laboratory and workplace safety.
  • Work schedule will include evening/night-time and weekend hours
Working ConditionsLaboratory Environment – 90%, Office Environment – 10%
Physical RequirementsStand/remain in stationary position for extended periods of time.
Walk/move about the laboratory in a safe manner.
Move or install laboratory equipment up to 25 pounds.
Able to multi-task and handle high stress levels periodically.
