Overall Responsibility:

Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer for selected accounts, supports the Sales Manager in the formulation and implementation of detailed customer strategies and manage and maintain customer interfaces for selected accounts. Coordinate and oversee commercial activities at designated accounts, including quotations, claims resolutions and program launches.

Accountabilities:

  • Work in a safe manner avoiding injuries to self and others nearby.
  • For selected accounts, provides sales forecasts as well as directs where resources should be spent on obtaining new business (vehicles or applications).
  • Works with Design Engineers to incorporate laser welded blanks into part designs by targeting applications and demonstrating cost and performance advantages.
  • Is the primary contact between the Customer and AMTB for quotations.
  • Generates quote letters and supports the quote process by supplying market intelligence on pricing and competition.
  • Solicits, receives and processes customer orders, inquiries, and/or complaints for laser welded blanks and supports customers through specialized technical or scientific knowledge/product applications.
  • Participates as a member of the product launch team responsible for all commercial aspects of the part launch and specifically for maintaining or increasing margins as engineering changes are made to the product.
  • Serves as the key customer contact and liaison between sales, logistics/supply chain and manufacturing. Communication on activities in these areas is integral to the delivery of customer service.
  • Provides resolution to invoicing discrepancies.
  • Proactively maintains an ongoing relationship with selected customers and sales staff, particularly those focused on technical applications of the product or service.
  • Participates as a member of customer teams with AMTB Automotive groups to develop a common strategy and consistent approach with selected customers.

Knowledge, Skills, and Personal Traits:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Related field
  • 3 years of experience in a Business Development/Commercial Sales role within the Automotive Sector
  • Knowledge of tool and die fabrication and/or metal forming
  • Knowledge of steel automotive structural components
  • Capable of reading design drawings and using AutoCad software
  • Ability to create strategies and tactics to win new business
  • Independent work ethic
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills
