Anactisis, LLC. is Hiring a Process Design/Development Engineer Near Pittsburgh, PA

We are actively seeking a Process Design / Development Engineer to join our team as we expand our exciting and key technologies in Rare Earth Element production. This position is located in Pittsburgh, PA.

Anactisis, LLC is a startup that is devoted to researching, developing, and deploying technologies for the recovery of critical materials, including rare earth elements. Our work aims to shift paradigms in extractive metallurgy. We are excitedly seeking a candidate to join our team who is looking to make real-world impact with their aligned skill set and background.

As a Process Design / Development Engineer you will support the planning, design, development, and construction of separation and purification facilities at field-pilot, demonstration, and commercial scales.

Responsibilities:

  • Engineering design, modeling, development, and testing (lab and field)
  • Experimental Design for scaling viability experiments
  • Data collection and interpretation
  • Technical report and protocol writing
  • Hydrometallurgical process and ion exchange system modeling
  • Carry out existing experimental and analytical protocols if needed and develop new protocols as necessary
  • Maintain detailed work notes; assist in drafting manuscripts, presentations, and proposals
  • Procurement of key equipment during our scaling process

Candidate must be capable of working both independently and with a team to create and validate novel solutions to complex problems. Candidate must be able to take initiative, follow scientific evidence, and propose potential solutions to barriers. Success requires excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Industrial Process Engineering, Mineral Engineering, Material Science or related field.
  • Must have at least 3 year of specialized experience. Examples of specialized experience may include:
  • Design Engineering
  • Part of a process development engineering team
  • Independently perform engineering and scientific work involving chemical processes and scientific technologies utilized by industry to produce useful products and systems
  • Performing specialist integration and test work for ion exchange systems and associated support equipment in the application of solid phase separation, advanced theories, and engineering principles to resolve engineering problems
  • Providing support for technical and logistical activities in a systems engineering integration and testing context
  • Analyses of engineering inputs, designs, and testing of chemical separations processes.

The following is desired, but not required to be considered for this position:

  • Master's degree in Chemical Engineering/Industrial Process Engineering/Material Science or similar. Formal training in polymer chemistry could be useful.
  • Demonstrate experience with process scale-up and managing vendor interactions for scale-ups.
  • 3-7 years working experience in chemical / process engineering industries
  • Experience with functionalization chemistry, solid-phase separations, or hydrometallurgical technologies.
  • Experience working the Department of Energy and other Government funding agencies.
  • Training in applying Process Engineering principles and concepts to real-world industry problems.
