ANALYSTS is Hiring a Database Designer Near Aberdeen, MD

Data Systems Analysts, Inc. is seeking a well-qualified Database Administrator to support CECOM Software Engineering Center (SEC). The CECOM Technical Services Unified contract is intended to provide support for the software development, IT infrastructure and cybersecurity services provided by the Software Engineering Center (SEC) Technical Services Directorate. The objectives of this contract are (1) Organizational wide understanding and adoption of the values and principles described in the Agile Manifesto. (2) A DevSecOps culture and practice that demands cross-functional, cross-team collaboration to implement automated pipelines for rapid software changes and deployment throughout the Army. (3) Cybersecurity is treated as a continuous effort throughout the software development life cycle from design through implementation and maintenance. Cybersecurity will be addressed earlier and throughout the process by the collective team.

Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD and Telework
This position is remote/ hybrid. Potential of 20% on-site at APG (TBD)
Responsibilities
  • Installs, configures, operates and maintains database servers
  • Develops processes for optimizing database security
  • Sets, implements and maintains database standards
  • Manages database access
  • Performs database systems performance tuning
  • Installs, upgrades, and manages database applications
  • Diagnoses, troubleshoots and corrects database errors
  • Recommends and implements emerging database technologies and security features
  • Creates and manages database reports, visualizations, and dashboards
  • Creates automation for repeating database tasks
  • Holds and maintains IAT Level II Commercial Baseline and Commercial Computing Environment Certifications as per DoD 8570.1M relevant to DBA duties
  • Holds and maintains all DoD 8570.1M certifications required to obtain elevated access permissions.
  • Maintains the network cyber security posture to include scanning and remediation of cyber vulnerabilities
  • Performs risk analysis to identify threats, vulnerabilities and likelihood and impact of exploitation
  • Performs user support and problem resolution.
  • Complies with organization’s information classification program and procedures for information compromise
  • Understands, follows and promotes the values and principles in the Agile Manifesto
  • Understands, follows and promotes continuous cyber security risk management
Required Qualifications
  • Active Secret security clearance
  • A Bachelor’s Degree, in Computer Science, Mathematics, or other Engineering or Technical discipline 4 years of relevant experience all within the last 4 years.
  • Three (3) additional years of applicable experience with appropriate certifications/relevant experience may be substituted for the degree. (Total 7 yrs experience)
  • Experience designing databases, reviewing and performing analysis of architectures, and configuring new SQL databases
