A holding company that owns 5 whole life insurance companies is looking for an experienced Head Actuary to oversee all of the actuarial functions of the company. The insurance companies' primary lines of business are fixed and variable annuities, whole life, medicare supplements, and hospital indemnity products.

This is a senior role that will be responsible for:

• The direction of all actuarial functions
• Technical analysis and support on holding company level and individual insurance company level including valuation and model governance.
• Managing the modeling and pricing of all new annuity products and reinsurance transactions
• Managing insurance policy liabilities and overseeing the analysis of adequate reserves to meet these obligations
• Manage the financial projection process
• Will be responsible for all regulatory filings and will work closely with the firm's 3rd party Appointed Actuary
• Will be directly involved with the firm's external auditors and state regulators
• Will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer
• Oversee analysis of key actuarial assumptions
• Communicate frequently to senior management on all actuarial functions and developments

Requirements:

• Master’s degree or higher in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Finance, or a related field.
• Certification: MAAA and FSA (or career ASA) designations.
• Experience: At least 10 years in the actuarial field, including 5 years in leadership roles within financial or actuarial departments.
• Must have life insurance and annuity experience.
• Must know structured assets such as CLO's, MBS, and Real Estate.
• Skills: Proficiency in actuarial software, excellent analytical capabilities, and the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a team, promoting a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
• Analytical and Strategic Thinking: Advanced analytical skills and strategic foresight to anticipate industry trends and adjust strategies accordingly.
• Communication and Integrity: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, maintaining high integrity and transparency in all dealings.
