The successful candidate will have 0-7 years of personal injury (product liability, auto accidents, negligence, sexual abuse, toxic torts), including drafting discovery and pleadings, taking depositions, and arguing motions.
Location: Philadelphia, PA
Job Responsibilities:
- Handle personal injury case files from start to finish, including client contact, reviewing medical records, drafting complaint, answering discovery, taking depositions
- Comfortable drafting complaints, motions, discovery responses, demand letters, other pleadings, and other legal documents
- Ability to perform legal research and review medical records
- Communicate with clients, expert witnesses, fact witnesses and medical providers to gather information and take depositions of same individuals
- Argue discovery and dispositive motions
- Document and update the status of all case files in the case management system
- Work one on one with paralegals assigned to files
- Special projects and duties, as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and a J.D. degree is required
- Pennsylvania law license is mandatory
- 0-7 years of experience in personal injury litigation (product liability, auto accidents, negligence, sexual abuse, toxic torts)
- A good understanding of personal injury law/ tort law, medical terminology, products liability law
- Superb research and writing skills
- Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
