What are we looking for?

We are looking for a backend Application Developer to work closely with one of our high-profile clients. The preferred candidate will have excellent programming skills and a passion for developing and maintaining integrations, API-driven applications, and custom apps. Ultimately, you should be able to develop and maintain functional and stable web applications to meet our client's needs. This role will work full time, on a temporary basis (most likely around 6 months.)

Day-to-day responsibilities

• (About 80% of role) Document and evaluate any downstream impacts to business processes resulting from new features released on Shopify POS
• Collaborate with product owners on the client team to collect requirements for customizations, if necessary.
• Collaborate with data engineers on the client team to assess impacts to data flows of downstream systems, if necessary.
• Collaborate with architects to assess impacts to payload and performance of new features, if necessary.
• Maintain calendar and release schedule for new features

Ideal qualifications

• 5 years as a Backend Application Developer on web applications.
• Working knowledge of Shopify POS
• Education: Degree or certification in software development
• Communication: Fluent writing and speaking in English
• Great cross-functional communication skills
• Ability to function at a high-level within a highly productive delivery environment
• Good organizational skills and a detail-oriented mindset.
• Travel to brick and mortar stores on occasion, testing POS systems. Open to east or west coast candidates.

• Excellent knowledge of TypeScript/Node JS.
• Excellent understanding of Object-Oriented Programming
• Excellent understanding of API (Rest, GraphQL).
• Good understanding of Shopify Plus
• Good understanding of Public and Custom Shopify Apps
• Good understanding of SQL DB.
• Good understanding of GIT.
• Good Understanding of the backend server.
• Good documentation skills.
• Bonus to have a strong background in web-based eCommerce applications.
• Bonus on having experience in other programming languages, such as Python/Ruby/PHP.
