Job Description

Job Title: Cardiovascular CVICU/MICU RN

Job Summary:

The Cardiovascular CVICU/MICU RN provides specialized nursing care to patients with cardiovascular issues in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) and Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU). This includes monitoring patients, administering medications, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and providing emotional support to patients and their families.

Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Monitor and assess patients' condition, vital signs, and cardiac rhythms.

2. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician.

3. Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.

4. Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families.

5. Assist with procedures such as placing central lines, intubation, and chest tube insertion.

6. Document patient care activities and maintain accurate medical records.

7. Respond to emergencies and provide life-saving interventions as needed.

8. Adhere to hospital policies and procedures to ensure patient safety and quality care.

Qualifications and Skills:

1. Valid RN license in the state of practice.

2. BLS and ACLS certification.

3. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a critical care setting, preferably in CVICU/MICU.

4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

5. Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-stress environment.

6. Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

7. Proficiency in using medical equipment and technology.

8. Willingness to work rotational shifts, including nights and weekends.
