Job Title: Registered Nurse - Intensive Care Unit
Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients. They monitor patients, administer medications, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and provide support to patients and their families during their time in the ICU.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assessing and monitoring patients' condition
2. Administering medications and treatments as ordered by physicians
3. Collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to create and implement care plans
4. Providing emotional support and education to patients and their families
5. Maintaining accurate and complete medical records
6. Operating and monitoring medical equipment
7. Responding quickly to changes in patients' conditions
8. Participating in quality improvement initiatives
9. Adhering to all hospital policies and procedures
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Valid RN license
2. BSN degree preferred
3. Certification in Critical Care Nursing (CCRN) a plus
4. Minimum of 2 years of experience in critical care nursing
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
6. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
7. Ability to work well under pressure
8. Knowledge of ICU procedures and protocols
9. Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
