Description
•Transfers parts to and from workstations, such as furnace, forge press, and trim press, using tongs;
•Clean dies with compressed air and lubricate dies during forging operations. As required, mix lubricant as instructed;
•Removes scale from parts and dies, using wire brush;
•Positions and turns parts during forging;
•Assist the Forge Operator to set dies in forge press, align dies, position and secure clamps and bolts; oil and grease die parts;
•Assist Forge Operator in making adjustments and minor repairs, tighten bolts and clamps, and perform any related duties to assist Forge Operator;
•Inspect parts as they come off the press;
- Maintain daily timekeeping, production, and interventions on computer systems;
•Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly condition;
•Follow verbal/written instructions given by Supervisor;
- Actively participate in efforts to establish and promote a safe and healthy work environment;
- Follow policies, programs, and procedures for the reduction and elimination of industrial accidents and provide quality feedback to promote safer work behaviors and conditions.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or GED;
- Previous experience in forging preferred.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES - Ability to read, comprehend, and follow instructions;
- Ability to work under pressure and adhere to schedules;
- Ability to work safely and keep area clean;
- Demonstrated ability to work well with all levels of the organization;
- Good verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills;
- Able to communicate clearly, concisely and achieve intended objectives;
- Ability to work assigned shift and remain awake and alert during assigned shift is required;
- Reporting to work for assigned shift, maintaining a physical presence and performing assigned work for the duration of assigned shift is required;
- Ability to work in a variety of environments which may include exposure to extreme heat, humidity, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, loud noise, and all weather conditions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is regularly required to stand for an 8 hour shift. Position requires frequent twisting, turning, reaching, bending, pulling and pushing. Position occasionally requires walking, climbing, stooping, and crouching. The employee must be able to handle up to 80 lbs on a regular basis throughout the 8 hour shift. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Working conditions include exposure to extreme temperatures (heat) and humid conditions, dirt, and noise.
