Role Summary
Bartenders at Vandelay Hospitality Group are responsible for providing exceptional beverage service to guests. Bartenders provide exceptional beverages to all guests consuming them, whether at the bar or at a table. The Bartenders are expected to perform in a hospitable, efficient manner and play an integral role in ensuring our guests have an outstanding dining experience. At all times, bartenders are expected to be attentive and anticipatory to guests’ needs. Our goal is to make everyone feel welcome, comfortable, important, and relaxed while exceeding expectations of all.
Responsibilities
Maintain a high level of hospitality and professionalism with each team member and guest
Develop and retain a complete knowledge of all food, beverage and dietary restrictions to answer guest questions
Ensure all steps of service are followed
Offer recommendations, take orders and develop relationships with guests to deliver personal and notable experiences
Ensure all orders in and out of the kitchen are accurate, on time and of standard to guest expectations
Execute opening and closing procedures associated with the assigned station
Work seamlessly and communicate with Sommeliers, Managers, and Servers
Assists to ensure guests have a valuable overall experience
Handle disputes and/or complaints with the utmost respect, professionalism and hospitality and go above and beyond to always accommodate special requests
Attend Food, Wine and Team training opportunities
Ensure proper alcohol service as is required by State and Local Alcohol Agencies
Requirements
1 years of bartending experience in an upscale or fine-dining high volume establishment
Positive attitude, a sense of responsibility and ownership of the position
Knowledge and passion for wine, beer, and craft cocktails
Understanding of classic food, wine service, pairings and service ware
Detail-oriented with strong communication skills
Team-oriented with a strong sense of punctuality and reliability
Demonstrate a sense of urgency and strong work ethic to keep up with high volume
Ability to navigate a fast-paced environment while being respectful, professional, and genuine attitude towards guests and colleagues
Fluent in both written and spoken English
Be able to safely lift and easily maneuver plates, cases of water, chairs, linen and dining room tables
Lift Up to 50 pounds
Certified for food and alcohol service as is required by State and Local Agencies
