- Job Title:** Sr Accountant
- Position Type:** Full-time (Direct Hire Position)
- Location:** Newport Beach, CA
- Pay Range:** $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
- Benefits:** Packages & options avail
- Schedule:** M-F in office 8:30am - 5pm
- Supplemental Pay Types:** Bonus opportunities offered
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university required, with a preferred major focus in finance, accounting, or real estate
- MBA is a plus but not required - Preferred 5 (minimum 1-3) years of work experience in real estate, financial analysis, accounting, or related fields - Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint
- Financial modeling experience preferred
- Full understanding of basic financial concepts such as IRRs, NPVs, time value of money, etc.
- Desire to learn and grow professionally in the real estate / home building industry
- Outstanding organizational skills and ability to work under pressure to meet multiple deadlines
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Construction Industry Financial Professional (CCIFP) designation a plus
- Experience with Argus/related software a plus
Real Estate/Portfolio Sr. Accountants assist with the financial, accounting, and reporting processes of assigned separate account real estate client portfolios. They analyze monthly property-level reports, including wholly owned and joint venture assets, and maintain investment level records. They also manage and fund properties for monthly operational and capital expenditure needs. Real Estate/Portfolio Accountants record quarterly unrealized real estate and debt valuation changes, and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated reports.
Real Estate/Portfolio Accountants deliver financial information to appropriate parties on a timely and accurate basis. They handle cash management and administration, including cash flow projections, client distribution planning, and monthly funding reviews. Real Estate/Portfolio Accountants assist in the preparation of quarterly asset and portfolio performance measurement calculations and assist in the preparation and analytical review of annual budgets and business plans. When needed, they also assist independent auditors and tax consultants with annual engagements and quarterly tax estimates. They also maintain accurate tax records for the company, partner investors as well as participate in the legality entity formation process.
