Description

The Preschool Behavior Analyst assists the Teachers and Director of Early Childhood Education in creating, executing, and upholding evidence-based (applied behavior analysis) educational systems and instructional programs in classroom and school settings. The Preschool Behavior Analyst aids in ongoing formal and informal assessments of student abilities, IEP goal development, and instructional interventions to address learning needs. Additionally, the Preschool Behavior Analyst conducts regular in-class observations to ensure program fidelity, analyzes data/graphs, and trains teachers in evidence-based strategies. Providing mentorship to the Teachers, the Preschool Behavior Analyst also reports on classroom progress and training to the Director of Early Childhood Education.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The Preschool Behavior Analyst will help the teachers develop and maintain evidence-based classroom systems and multi-tiered positive behavior support systems to promote an effective classroom learning environment.
  • The Preschool Behavior Analyst will demonstrate good time management skills, organization and management of materials, equipment, paperwork, and schedules.  will demonstrate good time management skills, organization and management of materials, equipment, paperwork and schedules. 
  • The Preschool Behavior Analyst conducts weekly review of student progress and analyzes student graphical display of progress, provides feedback and program changes as needed to ensure students are meeting learning outcomes.
  • The Preschool Behavior Analyst utilizes behavioral support to affect student learning and skills development.
  • The Preschool Behavior Analyst will work with Teachers to build a successful classroom team that actively addresses student learning, communication, social skills, and behavioral needs. The Preschool Behavior Analyst provides direct support and training to all Teachers under the guidance of Director of Early Childhood Education.

Qualifications


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Special Education, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Current Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) in good standing or currently on track to sit for BCBA exam.
  • New York State Certification in Students with Disabilities Birth-2nd or Bachelor’s degree in Special Education and Certificate of Qualification or Provisional Certification in Special Education with a commitment to pursue Master’s in Special Education preferred.
  • Experience working with preschool-aged children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities.
  • Proficiency in conducting functional behavior assessments (FBAs) and developing behavior intervention plans (BIPs).
  • Experience in administering the Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Program (VB-MAPP) assessment as well as similar assessments.
  • Strong knowledge of evidence-based ABA techniques and strategies. Adhere to ethical practices at all times.
  • Must maintain qualifications in the crisis intervention procedure of the agency.
  • Must be capable at all times of initiating or assisting in all components of the crisis intervention of the agency.
  • Must be capable at all times of assisting occupants in the orderly evacuation of the facility, by both primary and secondary paths in the event of fire or other emergency.
  • Must have on file medical clearance and TB statement before working with children.
  • Must have clean background check on file, including SCL, references and fingerprints before s/he can be left unsupervised with a child.
