Job Description
- Collaborate with product managers and designers to develop new consumer products or enhance existing products to meet market needs.
- Analyze market and consumer trends to identify product opportunities.
- Design and prototype consumer products using CAD software and rapid prototyping techniques.
- Work closely with suppliers and manufacturers to source materials and components for product development.
- Perform product testing and validation to ensure performance, quality, and safety standards are met.
- Develop and maintain product specifications, Bill of Materials (BOM), and manufacturing documentation.
- Manage product development timelines and budgets to meet project milestones.
- Coordinate product launch activities and support production ramp-up.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, sales, and quality assurance to ensure product success.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor products.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field. Master's degree may be a plus.
- 2 years of experience in consumer product development, preferably in a consumer goods company.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo) and other design tools.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and cost optimization for consumer products.
- Experience with design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) principles.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standards for consumer products.
- Excellent project management skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
- Creative problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Passion for consumer products and understanding of consumer behavior.
